Gonks

Folklore.
Gonks are similar to gnomes. They are familiar folklore figures to Scandinavian countries and the live in and around homes or barns and 'secretly' act as guardians.

If treated well by the home owner they will reliably protect the family and home from evil and misfortune however they are very short tempered and will play tricks if the home owners neglect to care for their home or pets, in any way.

Gonks are known as 'Nisse' in Denmark and Norway, and 'Tomte' in Sweden.

Gonks are made with a base for flat surfaces or without a base for placing in softer surfaces such as grass, soil or gravel.

Gonks are made to any height. Below shows Gonks 35 centimetres (14 inches) tall and 18 centimetres (7 inches) wide (base stand).

Gonks are either masonry painted or coloured with concrete pigment.
